Google has recently made some changes to their indexing algorithms that we think you should be aware of....
Google would like to make the web a safer place for you to browse and have stated that "user security has always been a top priority..." and therefore from now on they are adjusting their indexing system to look for HTTPS pages by default.
They also said "Over the years, we’ve worked hard to promote a more secure web and to provide a better browsing experience for users. Gmail, Google search, and YouTube have had secure connections for some time, and we also started giving a slight ranking boost to HTTPS URLs in search results last year..... This is why we’ve been strongly promoting HTTPS everywhere. As a natural continuation of this, today we'd like to announce that we're adjusting our indexing system to look for more HTTPS pages."
So what exactly does this mean to you?
It means that your website will need to have its own SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate installed to meet Googles new indexing algorithm. This SSL certificate provides an encrypted link between the web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and thats what Google is looking for.
We can help you with this.
We can arrange the purchase of your SSL Certificate and install into your website.
Also from an SEO perspective as Google is now ranking HTTPS sites higher its well worth having one installed.
